Radiological Tests at Dugway Proving Grounds
(10/31/14)—The Utah Division of Radiation Control would like to inform the public that it does not regulate Dugway Proving Ground. The use of radioactive materials at this federal facility is regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Radon Poster Contest Winners
(10/22/14)—The Utah Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Division of Radiation Control (DRC) today announced the three student winners for the 2015 National Radon Poster Contest.
Construction QA/QC Manual Approval
(10/09/14)—The revision allows the use of CLSM to remediate voids in resin containers disposed at the Bulk Waste Facility in the Class A West Embankment.
EnergySolutions Groundwater Discharge Permit Renewal and Environmental Monitoring Plan
(10/09/14)—The Director has signed EnergySolutions Groundwater discharge Permit Renewal, and approved the Clive Facility Environmental Monitoring Plan.
EnergySolutions Sealed Source Variance Request Extension
(10/01/14)—In a September 29, 2014 letter, the Director has extended the expiration date for the variance to license condition 16A and will expire on December 31, 2014.
EFR Chloroform Corrective Action Plan
(01/12/15)—The DRC is requesting public comment regarding a proposed Stipulation and Consent Order, Docket No. UGW20-01-SCO to be issued to Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. by the Director of the Utah DRC (Director). The Stipulation and Consent Order is being issued regarding Chloroform Ground Water Contamination Corrective Action at the White Mesa Uranium Mill Facility.
Public Comment Period Extension
(12/01/14)— The Director has received a request from an affected stakeholder to extend the public comment period of a new rule, R313-37, Physical Protection of Category 1 and Category 2 Quantities of Radioactive Material (DAR No. 155666). A public comment period will close on January 9, 2015.
Two Rulemaking Actions
(10/15/14)— Two rulemaking actions were sent to the Division of Administrative Rules and they were each printed in the Utah State Bulletin on November 1, 2014. A public comment period will close on December 1, 2014.
EnergySolutions asks for Extension
(09/02/14)—EnergySolutions is asking for a 2-month extension before going out for public comment.
