Generator Site Access.R313-26 of the Utah Radiation Control Rules establishes the terms for a Generator Site Access Permit Program which authorizes waste generators, waste processors and waste collectors to deliver radioactive wastes to a land disposal facility located within the state.

On-Line Applications

The eUtah on-line application system may be utilized to apply for a generator site access permit.

Inspection and Enforcement

Inspection and Enforcement.Generator Site Access permittees are subject to the provisions of R313-14 and R313-19-100 for violations of state rules or requirements in the current land disposal facility operating license regarding radioactive waste packaging, transportation, labeling, notification, classification, marking, manifesting or description. Permittees are subject to the Generator Site Access Permit Enforcement Policy. It is effective September 13, 2005.

 

 

 

Notification

Intermodal.The shipper of radioactive wastes must provide to the Executive Secretary upon demand a copy of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's "Uniform Low Level Radioactive Waste Manifest" for shipments consigned for disposal within Utah. The "Uniform Low Level Radioactive Waste Manifest" provides data for routing, safety planning, improving emergency response and compliance inspections.

The Utah Radiation Control Rule R313-26 Generator Site Access Permit Requirements for Accessing Utah Radioactive Waste Disposal Facilities establishes the terms for a Generator Site Access Permit Program which authorizes waste generators, waste processors and waste collectors to deliver radioactive wastes to a land disposal facility located within the state. In addition, the Division of Radiation Control has sent out specific letter that address waste attribution and blended uranium waste to clarify and help generators appropriately meet federal requirements.
