Moab Millsite Stakeholder Group

The Moab Millsite Stakeholder Group is a partnership formed between the Utah Department of Environmental Quality and the Grand County Council with the following objective:

Stakeholders working together through the interim cleanup phase to achieve a final resolution to the reclamation of the Moab Millsite tailings site.

The initial meeting of the Stakeholders Group was held October 19, 1999 in Salt Lake City. Stakeholders who have been invited to participate with the Group to date include:

  • City of Moab
  • Department of Energy/Grand Junction Projects Office
  • Department of the Interior
  • Grand Canyon Trust
  • Grand County Council
  • Environmental Protection Agency, Region VIII
  • Metropolitan Water District of Southern California
  • National Park Service
  • Representative Jim Matheson (Alyson Heyrend, Emily Merchant)
  • Senator Robert Bennett (Brad Shafer)
  • Senator Orrin Hatch (Ron Dean)
  • State Representative Brad King
  • State Senator Mike Dmitrich
  • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
  • Utah Department of Environmental Quality
  • Utah Department of Transportation

Meetings of the Stakeholder Group are open to the public. Agendas and minutes of meetings of the Group will be posted on this website.
