DEQ Task Force Proposal
DEQ agreement state/groundwater authority task force is being formed to meet the following objective:
Stakeholders will evaluate issues associated with the State's assuming regulatory authority of uranium mills and uranium tailings as well as evaluating issues associated with regulation of the groundwater affected by these sites.
The initial meeting of the Task Force was held April 13, 2000. Stakeholders that participated with the Group include:
- Division of Radiation Control, UDEQ representatives (Bill Sinclair - lead)
- Division of Water Quality, UDEQ representatives (Don Ostler - lead)
- Representative of the Radiation Control Board (Dr. Stephen Nelson)
- Representative of the Water Quality Board (Bill Williams)
